At the Flamingo Book Club, we offer fun, flexible, and free literacy programs designed to make reading exciting and accessible for elementary-aged children. Whether we’re delivering books, hosting an event, or leading a read-aloud storytime, we bring books and joy wherever we go!
Each month, we deliver a fresh batch of free children’s books to our partner libraries and elementary schools.
How it works:
Staff and students choose their book of the month
Books are delivered by Mrs. Flamingo, or volunteers/board members
All books are free for kids to keep and build their home libraries
Great for: Schools, libraries, and afterschool programs
An interactive, joyful storytime experience hosted by Mrs. Flamingo!
Includes:
Read-alouds of favorite picture books
Music and movement
Puppets, props, and themed games
Great for: Classrooms, library programs, and community events
No cost and no registration required—just bring your imagination!

Celebrate the 100th day of school with a community-wide reading challenge!
How it works:
Students team up to read 100 books in 100 minutes
Every child gets to choose a free book to keep
Hosted by Mrs. Flamingo, with a special read-aloud
We’ve done this at La Veta Elementary—and the kids hit 100 books in just 15 minutes!
We also held the event at Peakview Elementary School, where students read 100 books in under 10 minutes!
